David thought it was over.
It wasn't.
That same night, after he went to bed, Jessica knocked on Jasmine's door.
Jasmine opened it slowly.
Jessica was smiling.
But her eyes were not.
"You think your father will always be there to protect you?"
Jasmine didn't answer.
Jessica stepped closer.
"I've been in this marriage for six years.

She turned and walked away without another word.
