Chapter 2: The Man Who Walked Through Walls

The door didn't just open.

It exploded inward.

The hinges screamed as two large men in dark suits stepped aside, and a tall figure walked through — calm, unhurried, and absolutely terrifying in his stillness.

The man with the cane stumbled backward.

"Who are you?

How did you get in here?"

No answer.

Just footsteps on stone.

Vanessa's face had gone white.

Her perfectly painted lips parted, but nothing came out.

For the first time all evening, she looked small.

The figure stopped a few feet away and finally looked down at the woman tied to the pillar.

Something shifted in his expression — not shock.

Not panic.

Something colder.

Something that had been waiting a long time for this moment.

"Did they hurt you?" he said quietly.

She lifted her chin.

"I'm fine."

He turned slowly toward the man with the cane.

His voice didn't rise.

It didn't need to.

"You tied up my sister."

The man's grip tightened on his cane.

"Now listen here — I don't know who you think you are, but this is private property and she is a thief and a l—"

"Say that again." 😶‍🌫️

Silence swallowed the room whole.

Vanessa took one step back.

Then another.

Her heel caught the edge of a wine rack, and a single bottle rolled off and shattered on the floor — the only sound in the entire cellar.

Then her phone lit up on the table beside her.

She glanced at the screen.
