My stepmother demanded my dad kick me out over missing cash, but a tiny store receipt made her face turn pale.
Tara stormed in holding her purse and claimed fifty dollars was gone.
Since I was the only person home all morning, she immediately blamed me.
She ordered my dad to evict me and marched upstairs to tear through my bedroom.
She ransacked my desk, dresser, and backpack without finding a single bill.
Instead of apologizing, she claimed I must have spent it all.
Then my dad spotted a grocery receipt lying near the lamp.
On the back was her own handwriting noting a fifty-dollar cash payment.
She had handed the money to a delivery driver hours earlier and completely forgotten.
