Chapter 2: The Vial in the Evidence Bag

Part 2 👇
Eleanor's face went white.
She grabbed her purse and pulled it against her chest.
"Don't you dare touch my things."
But the young waitress didn't move.
She stood perfectly still, her eyes locked on Eleanor.
"I saw you," she said quietly.
"In the pantry.
Twenty minutes before the dinner started."
"That's a lie!" Eleanor's voice cracked.
"I've never even been in that pantry!"
Mr.
Sterling stepped closer.
His hands were shaking.
"Eleanor…
the decanter.
Your name was on the label.
Written in your handwriting."
"She put it there!
She set me up — can't you see that?"
The room had gone completely silent.
Then the head of security walked in holding a small glass vial in a sealed evidence bag.
"Sir," he said, looking only at Mr.
Sterling.
"We found this inside her purse.
The lab is already on the way."
Eleanor spun around.
"That is NOT mine.
Someone planted that."
But her eyes told a different story.
And across the room, one person hadn't said a single word.
They already knew exactly what was in that vial — and why Eleanor's name was on that decanter.
What they revealed next made everyone in that room go completely still.
