The sun beat down on the garden party, glittering off pristine champagne glasses and illuminating the centerpiece of the afternoon — a four-tiered, meticulously frosted white wedding cake.
Maya glided across the stone patio, her fitted hot pink dress catching everyone's eye.
She stopped right beside the dessert table, casting a quick glance over her shoulder.
Without a single word of warning, she placed her hand under the edge of the silver display stand and gave it a sharp, deliberate tilt.
The massive cake slid, struck the pavement with a heavy thud, and collapsed into a ruined heap of icing and crumbs.
A collective gasp echoed across the lawn as guests froze, horrified by the spectacle.
Maya simply tilted her head, looked directly at her mother-in-law, and let out a light, mischievous laugh.

Evelyn walked deliberately toward the stone fire pit, where bright orange flames danced in the open air.
She held the handbag high over the pit, suspending it directly above the roaring heat.
Maya's smug grin vanished instantly, replaced by sheer panic.
Before Maya could move, Evelyn opened her fingers, letting the designer bag drop straight into the fiery embers.

Maya gasped, covering her mouth with both hands in absolute shock, her eyes wide as she watched her prized possession burn.
