Chapter 1: The Chair That Started a War
Bianca forcefully shoves pregnant Serena from the ornate chair positioned beside the head of the table.
Serena crashes against the carpet and immediately wraps one arm protectively around her belly.
"That chair belongs to the real heir's mother."
Alaric has remained seated at the head of the table throughout everything.
He slowly rises to his feet and helps Serena stand again.
Across the room, Faye stands next to Bastian with one hand resting over her pregnant belly.
"Dad…
Bastian says she's carrying his son."
Bastian calmly takes Faye's hand and leads her toward the chair Serena was forced to leave.
Alaric immediately steps into his path.
Alaric delivers one thunderous open-handed sl*p across Bastian's face.
Bastian's head jerks sideways, he stumbles backward into the gift table, and crashes down among the scattered boxes.
Bianca moves toward Bastian protectively and points at Serena.
"Then take your daughter.
My grandson inherits everything."
Alaric gently guides Serena back to the ornate chair.
Every Mafia-family member stays completely silent.
Alaric looks straight at Bianca.
"Your grandson inherits nothing I own."
Bianca freezes.
Bastian's face drains.
