Chapter 1: The Night I Stopped Trusting the Man I Married

By the fourth night aboard my family's luxury yacht, I could barely stand.

My husband, Graham, kept blaming it on seasickness.

Every night, he gave me two pills.

Every night, I trusted him.

Until I woke up earlier than he expected and heard voices drifting up from the deck below.

First, my father-in-law asked:

"How much did you give her?"

Then Graham answered:

"Enough.

By midnight, she won't even know what's happening."

I stopped breathing.

They weren't talking about helping me recover.

They were discussing a storm coming after midnight.

A dark deck.

One missing shoe.

One carefully staged "accident."

And the hundreds of millions of dollars Graham expected to control after his new wife disappeared into the ocean.

Then my mother-in-law asked one more question:

"What about her parents?"

Graham's answer made my bl00d run cold.

Their plan didn't end with me.

I was dr*gged, hundreds of miles from shore, surrounded by the three people planning to erase my entire family — and they believed I was too weak to do anything about it.

So I crawled back to my cabin, poured the next dose down the sink, found the emergency device my father had secretly packed in my luggage…

and made one phone call.

Then I climbed back into bed and waited for my husband to come take me to the railing.

He thought the dr*gs were working.

He had no idea I was about to play along until the very last second…

---

What did Graham say when his mother asked about her parents?

And what happened when he came to take her to the railing?
