Chapter 1: The Hanger and the Hidden Floor

I came home early and found my wife standing over my terrified children with a wooden hanger raised in her hand.
"Dad, help us!"
My six-year-old daughter was trembling against the wall.
My son was crouched under the coffee table, bruises already forming on his arms.
I grabbed Vanessa's wrist before she could h*t them again.
"What the hell did you do to my kids?"
"They were misbehaving," she said calmly.
Then my daughter wrapped her arms around my neck and whispered something that made my bl00d run cold.
"Daddy…
Vanessa said Mommy didn't d*e in an accident."
The room went silent.
I stared at my wife.
For the first time, I saw fear in her eyes.
"What did she say?"
My daughter swallowed.
"She said Mommy found the papers."
"What papers?"
"The ones hidden under your office floor."
Behind me, Vanessa quietly reached for her phone.
I didn't know it yet…
but what I found beneath that floor would prove my children weren't the only ones she had been trying to silence.
