Chapter 1: The Gold That Couldn't Buy Manners

"Don't stand near me!" Karen shrieked, her voice cutting through the gentle afternoon breeze on the manicured estate lawn.

She smoothed down the shimmering fabric of her opulent gold gown, eyes flashing with absolute disdain.

"Do you even have any idea what this custom dress costs?

Someone like you couldn't afford a single thread!" 😤

Standing a step below her on the grand stone terrace, Maya kept her posture straight, her dark burgundy turtleneck tight against the chill.

Next to her, her father leaned heavily on his dark wooden cane, his weathered face etched with quiet dignity despite the venom being directed at them.

Before Maya could even respond, Karen's face contorted with rage.

She lunged forward, her hand sweeping through the air with brutal force.

The heavy sl*p echoed across the courtyard, cracking against Maya's cheek and forcing her head aside.

GASPS erupted from the crowd of high-society guests gathered on the lawn.

"You think you belong here?!" Karen hissed.

Before Maya could recover her balance, Karen lunged again, grabbing Maya by her braided ponytail, pulling her down, and str*king her hard in the stomach.

Maya gasped for air, doubling over as the pain flared through her chest.

"Karen, stop this right now!" Maya's father called out, his voice trembling with outrage as he tried to step forward, but his weak leg buckled slightly against his cane.

Seeing her father struggle was the spark that ignited something fierce inside Maya.

As Karen raised her fist for another strike, Maya caught her breath, locked her eyes onto her attacker, and grabbed Karen's wrist mid-air.

With a sudden burst of power, she twisted free, spun her hips, and delivered a swift, devastating right hook straight to Karen's jaw.

🔥

The impact rang out like a crack of thunder.

Karen's head snapped back.

Her eyes rolled as her high heels lost traction on the slippery stone edge.

Screaming, she tumbled backward off the terrace ledge, flailing wildly in mid-air before crashing face-first into the massive, muddy pit prepared for the garden's new fountain below.

Thick, brown mud exploded outward, splashing all over Karen's pristine gold gown, her hair, and her face.

The entire crowd went completely silent, phones raised, frozen in shock.

😨

Maya brushed a stray braid from her face and adjusted her cuffs.

She took a slow, deliberate breath, leaning over the stone balustrade to look down at the groaning figure writhing in the slop.

"You were so worried about your dress," Maya said softly, her voice carrying clearly across the silent courtyard.

"You should have respected my father."

Karen thought her gold gown made her untouchable — but Maya just proved otherwise.

What happens when Karen gets back up?
