Chapter 1: The Empty Space Where My Car Used to Be

I bought my first car with money I earned myself, but my stepmother treated it like something she could hand away whenever her daughter wanted an upgrade.

I came home one afternoon and found my parking space EMPTY.

"Monica, where's my car?"

"I sold it," she answered casually.

Then she pointed toward the driveway, where Kayla was admiring her shiny new luxury SUV.

"She needed reliable transportation."

I couldn't believe it.

Kayla had a $96,800 vehicle, and I had been told to take the bus to work.

When I protested, my stepsister smirked.

"You should be happy somebody bought your old sedan."

I was still trying to process the betrayal when Dad stepped through the door.

He noticed my tears and immediately asked what happened.

Then he checked his phone.

A notification showed that $96,800 had been paid to Prestige Luxury Motors from his personal account.

Dad stared at Monica.

"Why was this charged to my account?"

She tried calling it a misunderstanding.

But the bank revealed something even more disturbing: an additional purchasing profile had been active for months.

Dad insisted he had never created it.

Monica's confidence began to crumble.

Then an unknown number sent him a warning.

"Check the paperwork from the car sale.

Don't let her destroy it."

Dad demanded to see the documents.

And what appeared on his screen made him question everything he thought he knew about his own family.

---

What did those documents show — and what has Monica been hiding all along?
