Chapter 1: The Daughter by the Sink

My mother treated me like a maid while trying to marry my sisters off to a billionaire, until he walked in and completely ignored them.

The enormous oceanfront mansion was glowing, but I was tucked away near the kitchen sink with wet hands and a plain white apron.

My mother, Victoria, had spent weeks preparing for tonight.

A young, powerful billionaire named Alexander Hayes was visiting our home.

She dressed my two sisters, Olivia and Charlotte, in costly dresses and diamond jewelry, hoping he would choose one of them.

Whenever I paused for a second, my mother screamed at me to move faster.

My sisters simply laughed and teased that I looked like a real maid.

I kept my head lowered, washing dishes in silence while my heart slowly broke inside.

Without warning, the front doors opened and Alexander walked in with his security guards.

My mother quickly pushed my sisters forward with a fake, proud smile.

“These are my beautiful daughters,” she purred.

But Alexander didn't even glance at them.

His cold eyes scanned the room, ignoring every luxury around him.

Then, his gaze stopped completely.

He was looking straight past my mother and sisters, staring directly at me by the sink.

A tense silence fell over the whole room.

My mother tried to interrupt, nervously saying I was nobody important.

Alexander raised his hand, instantly silencing her.

He slowly walked past everyone, stepping closer to where I stood with trembling hands.

He stopped right in front of me and looked deeply into my eyes.

Just as he opened his mouth to say something that would change everything, the room froze.
