Chapter 1: The Dress, The Fire, and The Look on His Face

My Stepmother Cut My Prom Dress Seconds Before the Dance, But She Forgot One Major Detail…

The luxury dressing room, with its crystal chandelier and marble floors, was supposed to be a place of dreams.

Instead, it became the stage for my absolute nightmare.

My stepmother held a pair of heavy tailor scissors, her sharp emerald suit catching the light as she lined them up with the delicate white fabric of my dress.

With a sickening, deliberate *crunch*, she sliced right through the bodice.

"No!

That's my only dress!" I screamed, dropping to my knees as tears flooded my eyes.

💔

She didn't even blink.

With a cold, mocking laugh, she and her daughter dumped the ruined pieces of white silk directly into a heavy metal drum filled with dark, staining dye.

"Enjoy staying home tonight!" my stepmother sneered, high-fiving her daughter, who was already glammed up in her own rose-pink gown.

Just then, heavy footsteps echoed down the hallway.

My father burst into the room, taking in the sight of me sobbing on the floor and the smug expressions on their faces.

His eyes turned dark as storm clouds.

"What the hell did you do to my daughter?" he demanded, his voice dropping into a dangerous register.

My stepmother crossed her arms, tilting her head back with zero remorse.

"She doesn't deserve that dress."

My father didn't argue.

He walked over, gently pulled me up by my shoulders, and set me aside.

He turned to my stepmother, his face completely unreadable.

"You think this is funny?"

Without waiting for an answer, he marched straight into their walk-in closet.

He grabbed an armful of their most expensive, custom-designed evening gowns — golds, purples, silks, and sequins — and dragged them out into the center of the room.

"Don't you dare!" my stepmother shrieked, her voice cracking as her composure instantly shattered.

My father ignored her completely, dumping every single one of their high-end dresses right into the exact same barrel of dark dye.

Then, he reached into his pocket, pulled out a single wooden match, and struck it against the side.

The tiny flame flickered in the silence of the room.

He dropped it into the barrel.

*FOOM!*

A massive wall of bright orange fire erupted from the drum, consuming the silk and dye instantly in a roaring blaze.

😤

"We need those tonight!" my stepmother's daughter screamed, covering her mouth in complete horror as the flames licked the air.

My father turned around slowly, his towering frame silhouetted against the roaring fire, his eyes locking onto theirs with absolute coldness.

"If my daughter can't go," he said, his voice ringing through the room like a gavel, "neither can you."

He didn't break eye contact for a single second as the flames consumed everything, leaving my stepmother staring in absolute, paralyzed shock — while I looked up at my father through my tears.

😨
