💔 SHE THOUGHT SHE WAS INTRODUCING HER BOYFRIEND BEFORE PROM—BUT HER FATHER RECOGNIZED SOMETHING IN HIS FACE
She stepped into the house smiling.
Her boyfriend stood beside her dressed for prom, nervous about meeting her father for the first time.
"Dad, this is Marcus."
Her father turned around.
Then froze.
The resemblance was impossible to ignore.
Same eyes.
Same smile.
Even the same small scar his family carried.
Her dad suddenly asked:
"Who is your mother?"
Marcus gave her name.
The glass slipped from Dad's hand.
"Why does that matter?" his daughter asked.
He didn't answer immediately.
Instead, he disappeared into his bedroom and returned holding an old photograph.
Marcus stared at it.
"That's my mom."
His daughter felt her stomach drop.
The picture had been taken more than seventeen years earlier.
And the man standing beside Marcus's mother was her father.
Dad finally admitted there had been another relationship long before his daughter knew anything about it.
One that ended suddenly.
One that might have resulted in a son he never knew existed.
Now that possible son was standing in his living room as his daughter's boyfriend.
