Chapter 2: The Woman Who Made Brandon Go Pale

Part 2 ⬇️
The cafeteria stayed frozen.
Nobody moved.
Nobody spoke.
Every eye in the room was locked on Brandon and Marcus, still flat on the floor, staring up at Maya like they couldn't process what had just happened.
Then Brandon's face changed.
The embarrassment burned through him fast — and it turned ugly.
He pushed himself up, jaw tight, voice low and sharp.
"You're going to regret that."
Maya didn't blink.
"I already forgot it."
A few students laughed.
That made it worse.
Marcus grabbed Brandon's arm, pulling him back, but Brandon shook him off and stepped closer to Maya.
"You think this is over?
You have no idea who my father is."
"I don't care," Maya said quietly.
"And neither does the floor you just came off."
More laughter.
Louder this time.
Then a door swung open at the far end of the cafeteria.
A teacher walked in — but it wasn't just any teacher.
It was Mr.
Holt, the vice principal.
And standing right beside him was a woman Maya had never seen before.
Tall.
Composed.
Watching the room with calm, careful eyes.
Brandon went pale the moment he saw her.
Maya noticed.
"Brandon," the woman said, her voice cutting clean across the silence.
"We need to talk.
Right now."
Brandon's confident smirk vanished completely.

And Maya realized — this woman knew something.
Something that had nothing to do with today.
