Chapter 1: The Girl in the White Dress
The cold marble floor felt like ice against Maya's bare knees as she stumbled forward, the sharp impact echoing through the gleaming showroom of *Luxe & Co*.
Standing over her, Maya's sleek black heels clicked down with absolute authority.
She smoothed the lapels of her fitted suit coat, her eyes cold as flint as she glared down at the trembling young girl in the simple white dress.
"Stay away from my store, trash!" Maya spat, her voice cutting through the hushed room like a razor blade.
Whispers immediately rippled through the crowd of high-society shoppers.
A woman adorned in diamonds pressed a hand to her chest, murmuring in horror, "What a cruel woman!"
Maya didn't even blink.
She stepped closer, towering over the child, her face twisted with elitist rage.
"People like you ruin this brand!" 😤
Maya looked up from the floor, her tear-filled eyes locking onto the glass front doors.
A sleek, blacked-out SUV came to a sudden halt right at the curb.
The heavy doors swung open, and Marcus — a massive, broad-shouldered head of security in a tailored black suit and dark sunglasses — strode purposefully into the boutique.
The crowd fell completely silent, parting like the Red Sea as the towering man swept past the display cases, his polished boots clicking heavily against the tile.
He stopped directly in front of the small girl.
Without a moment of hesitation, the formidable man dropped to one knee, lowering his head in complete reverence.
"Owner's daughter," Marcus said, his deep voice carrying across the silent room, "forgive our late arrival." 😨
The manager's clipboard slipped from her numb fingers, hitting the floor with a loud clatter.
Her face drained of all color as her jaw dropped in absolute horror, her hands trembling violently as she backed away.
"The daughter?..." Maya choked out, her voice cracking as panic seized her chest.
"How?!" 💔
