Chapter 1: The Missing $600

The father angrily searched through the grocery bags, realizing his son's school supplies were missing.
"This ain't $600 worth of stuff," he confronted the mother.
"Because I split the money between all three kids," she calmly replied.
The father was furious.
He had specifically sent that $600 for his son's back-to-school needs.
"They got fathers!" he yelled, demanding to know why he was paying for children who weren't his.
The mother argued that it was unfair to let her other two children go without while his son got everything.
"They all live under the same roof," she defended herself.
"Your roof," the father snapped back.
"I'm not cool with you spending my son's money on everybody else."
