Chapter 1: The Dress in the Flames

THE FIRE PIT.

A spoiled stepsister thought she could cruelly burn my dream graduation dress to ashes, never realizing that our father was about to deliver a ruthless reality check right into the flames.

I rushed screaming onto the patio in sheer horror as roaring flames consumed my fluffy pink dress, crying that I had saved money for months just to buy it.

My stepsister folded her arms in her glittering gown, smirking that I should relax because it was ugly anyway.

Her toxic mother came outside and backed her up, rolling her eyes and telling me to stop being dramatic over "just a dress".

My father walked outside with complete, unbothered calm, demanding to know who was responsible.

The spoiled brat scoffed that she did me a favor.

My father didn't yell or raise his voice.

He calmly lifted her designer rhinestone clutch from the bench.

She screamed in total panic, begging him not to touch it because it cost $3,000.

Without flinching, he threw the expensive bag straight into the blazing fire pit and delivered a chilling reality check: "Relax, it's just a bag".

The brat stood there, pale as a ghost, jaw dropped in complete shock as he ordered both of them to pack their bags and get out of his house.
