Chapter 1: The Bride's Condition

The grand ballroom was filled with the gentle hum of soft classical music and the warm glow of crystal chandeliers, decorated in sweeping cascades of white orchids and gold accents.
Friends and family looked on with wide smiles as the bride stood gracefully at the altar, her white satin wedding dress flowing elegantly across the marble floor.
Suddenly, the bride's demeanor shifted from celebratory to cold and transactional.
With a sharp flick of her wrist, she pulled a set of legal documents out from behind her bouquet and held them out toward her handsome groom, her expression completely unyielding.
"Your father can move into care," she declared, her voice ringing loud enough for the first few rows of guests to hear clearly, her eyes narrowing without a trace of hesitation.
"I want his cottage." 💔
Seated in a wheelchair just inside the golden velvet barrier rope, the groom's elderly father stared up at the legal papers in absolute shock.
His weathered hands trembled as he clutched the armrests of his wheelchair, his eyes widening in deep confusion and heartbreak.
Across from him, the bride's mother sat in the front row, wearing a glittering emerald dress and a heavy gold necklace, offering a subtle, cruel smirk of agreement.
The groom stepped forward, looking between the woman he was about to marry and his vulnerable, heartbroken father.
The weight of her demands hit him like a physical blow, his jaw tightening as disbelief rapidly turned into sharp outrage.
"He built that home with his own hands," the groom said, his voice deep and trembling with anger as he crouched beside his father to shield him from her glare.
"Every single brick, every beam — he put his entire life into building that cottage for his family."
The bride did not flinch.
She simply tilted her head, her eyes icy and devoid of empathy as she looked down at both of them.
"This is my condition," she insisted coldly, refusing to lower the papers.
"Take it or leave it." 😤
A tense, suffocating silence fell over the room as the wedding guests gasped.
The groom slowly rose to his full height, looking directly into the eyes of the woman standing in front of him.
His chest rose and fell heavily as the final veil of affection fell away, leaving only absolute clarity.
"And walking away is mine," the groom replied, his voice calm, sharp, and final.
Without hesitation, he reached out, unhooked the heavy golden velvet barrier rope blocking the aisle, and let it drop heavily to the floor.

Turning his back completely on the bride and her mother, he stepped behind his father's wheelchair, took hold of the handles, and began pushing him down the grand center aisle toward the exit doors.
