The Father's eyes moved from the Woman in Green to the Maid.
The Maid stood there dripping, arms wrapped around herself, still breathing hard from the dive.
He didn't speak.
He just took off his jacket and placed it over her shoulders.
The Woman in Green's smile disappeared.
"What are you doing?" she snapped.
"She almost kjlled your son.
You should be calling the police right now."
The Father looked at her slowly.
"I watched from the window."
The Woman in Green went very still.
"I saw everything," he said.
"Every single second."
The Maid looked up at him, eyes wide.
But before he could say another word, the Woman in Green stepped closer and lowered her voice to something sharp and cold.
"Be very careful what you say next.
You don't know what I know about her."
The Father didn't flinch.
But the Maid did.
