Chapter 1: The Question That Silenced the Party
"Wait, you're still living with her?"
She narrowed her eyes, her voice filled with disbelief as her gaze locked onto mine.
"Yeah.
Why?" I asked, keeping my posture steady while taking a sip of my drink.
"Because she's taking you away from me!" 😤 She snapped, stepping closer, her voice rising above the low murmur of the penthouse party.
I glanced at her, my expression unreadable.
"When was the last time you even touched me?"
"In six months?" She scoffed, folding her arms defensively.
"That doesn't mean you slept with another woman.
Cheater!" 💔
A slow, mocking grin spread across my face as I watched her play the victim before everyone.
"Then tell me something," I said quietly, leaning in close so only she could hear.
"Who is John?
And how did you get that promotion after only three months?"
Her face turned completely pale, her eyes widening in pure shock as her mouth remained open, unable to utter a single word.
