Chapter 1: The Man Behind the Glass

"You Think I'm Still On The Road?" 💔
Daniel slid his key into the front lock, his shoulders heavy from the grueling four-hour drive back from his business trip.
All he wanted was a hot shower and his wife's warm embrace.
But before the brass latch could click open, a trembling hand yanked his wrist back with desperate force.
"Don't open that door!" Maria, the housemaid, gasped, her face pale as she looked frantically toward the driveway.
Daniel frowned, gripping his leather luggage tightly.
"Why?
Maria, what's going on?"
"Your wife thinks you're coming back tomorrow," Maria whispered, her voice shaking as she forcefully pulled him toward the shaded side path of the estate.
"Come with me.
Please...
you need to see this, but you must stay quiet." 😨
Doubt and sudden tension surged through Daniel's chest.
He allowed himself to be led through the tall, sun-drenched cypress trees lining the perimeter of the courtyard.
Maria stopped behind a thick cluster of garden hedges, pointing a trembling finger toward the floor-to-ceiling glass patio doors of the main living room.
Daniel stepped closer, peering through the pristine glass.
His heart instantly plummeted into his stomach.
Inside the brightly lit, luxurious living room, his wife, Sophia, was wrapped in the arms of Marcus—Daniel's own senior financial analyst.
They weren't just standing together; Marcus had his hands low on her waist, pulling her into a deep, passionate kiss.
Maria looked away, tears of sympathy welling in her eyes.
"Daniel...
I'm so sorry," she breathed softly.
Before Daniel could even process the crushing betrayal, the heavy vibration of his phone shattered the silence.
He glanced down at the glowing screen: WIFE CALLING.
A cold, venomous calm washed over him.
He swiped the screen and brought the phone to his ear, his gaze locked directly on his wife through the glass.
"Hello?"
Through the phone, Sophia's voice was sweet, dripping with forced affection.
"Hello, baby!
How's the trip going?
I miss you so much...
I really wish you were here right now."
Through the window, Daniel watched the horrifying illusion play out in real-time.
Sophia smiled warmly into her phone while simultaneously leaning her body into Marcus, who was trailing light kisses down her neck while pointing to a thick stack of legal documents resting on the glass table.
"What about the papers?" Marcus murmured audibly to Sophia, his voice carrying slightly through the open patio vent.
Sophia giggled softly into the phone receiver, turning her back to the window.
"They'll be signed tomorrow," she whispered smoothly into the mic, answering both men at once.
Marcus pulled her closer, his thumb stroking her hip.
"And after that?"
Sophia slid her arms around Marcus's neck, looking into his eyes with a cold, calculating smile that Daniel had never seen before.
"Half of everything becomes mine," she declared softly, "and I become yours." 🔥
She leaned in and pressed her lips against Marcus's in a long, lingering kiss.
Outside, standing hidden in the bright sunlight behind the green foliage, Daniel held the phone tightly against his ear, his eyes narrowing into two slits of pure, icy fury as he watched his entire life be stolen right in front of him.

Daniel is still on that call.
Sophia has no idea he's watching.
What does he do next — and what happens when those papers hit the table tomorrow?
