Chapter 1: The Voice Behind the Wall
A terrible secret surfaced when a father discovered why his young daughter was secretly passing food behind a hidden partition in their home.
Coming home early from a business trip, Mark noticed the eerie silence throughout the house.
Suddenly, a sharp sl*p echoed from upstairs, followed by muffled crying.
He hurried up the hallway to find little Lily holding her red cheek while Vanessa, his wife, stood over her in absolute rage.
“She won't stop doing it!” Vanessa snapped as Mark pulled his daughter tightly into his arms.
“I was just giving him food,” Lily sobbed, pulling a small piece of bread from her pocket.
Before Vanessa could stop her, the child dropped to her knees near the tall bookcase at the end of the hall.
She pushed the piece of bread through a tiny crack near the baseboards.
From the pitch-black space behind the wall, a raspy voice whispered, “Thank you, Lily...”
Vanessa went pale, backing away in terror while Mark stared at the wall in utter disbelief.
Who had his wife been keeping hidden back there all these years?
