Chapter 1: The Watch That Remembered Everything

Alejandro wanted to make it "a family matter"…
but the phone had already sent a copy of everything outside the house.
Elena hadn't manually activated the recording at first.
Her watch had.
During her pregnancy, she had set up a special safety feature.
Hard fall.
Alert.
Automatic recording of the previous minutes.
And immediate copy to two trusted contacts.
Alejandro didn't know it existed.
When he realized, he tried to get the phone back.
"Give it to me."
Elena shook her head.
"No."
Nicolás was crying in her arms.
A few guests watched from a distance.
Alejandro glanced around.
"This is a family matter."
Elena replied:
"That's what you say when you don't want any witnesses."
Then someone knocked on the door.
Three times.
Rafael Montes stepped in.
Elena's father.
Founder of one of the city's most powerful business groups.
And owner of 38% of the company Alejandro ran.
He took out his phone.
"I received the audio."
That sentence changed everything.
The file was no longer just on Elena's device.
Alejandro couldn't delete it.
He couldn't recover all the copies.
Rafael saw the mark on his daughter's face.
Then he looked at Nicolás.
"Let's go to the hospital."
Victoria tried to intervene.
"It was a family argument."
But Elena watched her.
She had seen how she avoided looking directly at Alejandro.
"You've seen him lose control before."
Silence.
Alejandro reacted.
"Don't answer."
Another recorded sentence.
Another sentence impossible to erase.
Victoria began to cry.
"I can't keep protecting him."
Rafael slowly raised his phone.
Elena felt a chill.
"Dad...
what did you hear?"
He didn't answer.
He opened the file.
The recording had started several minutes before the fall.
Long before Elena knew she would need proof.
First, a conversation could be heard.
Victoria was talking to Alejandro.
Elena was still in another part of the room.
Rafael skipped ahead a few seconds.
Then a sentence appeared.
His expression changed.
Elena saw him.
"What did it say?"
Rafael listened to it again.
Then he looked at Victoria.
"What were you talking about 'again'?"
Alejandro remained completely still.
Victoria began to tremble.
Because the audio could prove not only what had happened that night.
It could reveal that there was a previous story.

A story that Alejandro thought was buried.
And a person that, until that moment, Elena didn't even know existed.
