Chapter 1: The Hand I Refused to Ignore

I stopped a wealthy woman from sl*pping a disabled guest at a lavish gala.

I had no idea the billionaire across the room was watching my every move.

The grand ballroom was crowded with crystal chandeliers and wealthy guests in expensive suits.

I was carrying drinks, minding my own business.

Then I noticed a wealthy woman towering over a nervous woman in a wheelchair.

The tension was unbearable, but no one moved.

Suddenly, the wealthy woman raised her hand to sl*p her.

Without thinking, I hurried forward and grabbed her wrist.

“Stop it,” I said.

The entire room fell d*ad silent.

She yanked her hand back, face twisted with rage.

“How dare you!” she screamed.

She pushed me hard.

I stumbled, and my tray crashed to the floor, sending glasses shattering everywhere.

Across the room, an influential man in a dark suit fixed his eyes on me.

The wealthy woman pointed her finger at my face.

“You’re making a big mistake,” she hissed.

Glass lay scattered all around my feet, but I stood my ground.

I looked her straight in the eye and said, “I don’t care.”

Gasps echoed through the ballroom as the powerful man began walking directly toward us.
