Chapter 1: The Empty Camera Case

My wife swore she only returned our daughter's graduation gift because she needed the money for bills.

She didn't realize I was about to expose the selfish betrayal she had been hiding.

I stood in the dining room staring at my daughter's empty camera case.

I quietly asked my wife what happened to the graduation gift I had just bought for college.

She stared at me with crossed arms and defensive anger.

"We needed the money.

I handled what needed handled," she snapped, attempting to justify her actions.

I didn't shout or raise my voice.

I calmly took out the store receipt to show she had received a full refund of $1,249.

Her defensive attitude began to crack as I refused to let it go.

"You got the full refund?

Then where's the money?" I asked coldly.

Suddenly, my other daughter entered the room, holding her phone.

She looked at us and delivered a frightening revelation.

She announced that her mother didn't use the refund for bills at all—she had just bought something yesterday.

My wife froze, her eyes widening in absolute panic, realizing her greedy secret was completely exposed.
