Chapter 1: The Shears and the Binder

The day before my brother's wedding, my mother cut every outfit I owned into pieces and tossed the ruined fabric at my feet.
Little did she know, I had a backup plan that ruined her entire week.
Staring down at the shredded dresses and mangled blouses scattered across my bedroom floor, a cold numbness washed over me.
My mother leaned against the doorframe, heavy metal tailor shears glinting in her hand.
"You are not showing up tomorrow to embarrass this family," she sneered, scanning me with pure disgust.
"You're plain, completely out of shape, and you'll ruin every single photograph," she scoffed, tilting her head with a self-satisfied grin.
Standing right behind her, my brother's bride-to-be tried and failed to hide her smirk.
They honestly thought destroying my clothes meant I would sit locked inside all weekend.
I didn't shed a single tear, nor did I raise my voice.
I simply walked to my desk, turned the key in the bottom drawer, and pulled out a heavy black binder.
"What's that supposed to do?" my mother snapped, crossing her arms tightly.
"These are the paid confirmation receipts for the caterers, the florists, and the venue," I said, holding her gaze with steady precision.
"Every single dime was charged directly to my personal card."
Without breaking eye contact, I reached for my phone, opened an app, and tapped the screen twice.
"And I just submitted a full cancellation request for tomorrow morning."
The color drained from my mother's face instantly, her smug smile collapsing into absolute, speechless horror.

What happens next when that cancellation goes through?
